Good passes in all subjects at Year 12/ Matriculation or the overseas equivalent.
Recognition of prior learning: You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (Academic) with no individual bandscore less than 5.5.
Students must provide documented evidence of serology results for Hepatitis B, Hepititis C and HIV prior to course commencement
Students will be required to pass a national police records check prior to placements, and meet immunisation requirements. A physical ability to stand for long periods and fine motor control are recommended.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills required to participate in a Certificate level qualification – assessed via BKSB. This identifies any learners who will require literacy or numeracy support from LSC team.
Exit Level 2 working at Levels of 3 in Numeracy and Literacy are required. Students with exit levels below 3 may be accepted provided provided adequate support is established from course commencement to ensure that the student has the best chance of completion.

The Certificate III in Pathology Collection will give you the knowledge and skills to work as a pathology collector in the private pathology sector, medical clinics and hospital settings.
The course is delivered in Holmesglen's specialised pathology and biotechnology education facility, where an emphasis is placed on practical training. You will practise your newly acquired skills in our fully operational clinical skills laboratory, giving you the opportunities to refine your skills so you feel confident entering the workforce.
You will be trained in areas including phlebotomy (blood collection), infection control, ECG, first aid, customer service, work organisation and medical terminology.
