The vision of Concordia College is contained in three words: Engage, Achieve, Serve.
‘Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire.’
This quote from the Nobel Prize winner W.B. Yeats provides a succinct overview of what we aim to achieve at Concordia College; to light a fire of curiosity that inspires engagement and a desire for personal growth within each of our students.
The vision of Concordia College is contained in three words: Engage, Achieve, Serve. As you explore our website, we hope that you gain an insight into how these three objectives are realised through our school programs.
As well as our commitment to academic engagement and achievement, we offer a wide range of opportunities that encourage students to discover and develop their talents and interests within a safe and supportive environment.
Christian faith and spirituality underpins the practices of Concordia College. In this context service to others is an important aspect of school life. In fulfilling our mission we provide opportunities for students to learn and grow through service and to reflect on their own spiritual development.
We have high expectations and aspirations for our students, who consistently achieve outstanding academic outcomes. Our hope is for all Concordia graduates to leave with a quiet but confident sense of who they are, equipped to achieve and serve throughout their lives.
Concordia College consists of two campuses: St John's Campus (ELC to Year 6) and Concordia Campus (Year 7 to 12) located on a single site in Adelaide's eastern suburbs, just 5km from the CBD. Uniquely positioned for access to the city and the hills, and located close to major transport routes, Concordia attracts students from across Adelaide, with around one third of our students travelling in by school bus.
The St John's Campus Courtyard, opened in August 2016, provides a flexible central learning space with plenty of colour and natural light. The area is used as an eating area and a play space during lunch and recess times. The large undercover area with flexible seating provides classes and year levels with space to work collaboratively outside of the classroom.
