New technology and changing platforms means there is a constant demand for people with the skills to design and create new and engaging interactive content for advertising, online businesses and social media. Our course will help you develop your artistic vision for the future of digital content, while giving you research and analytical skills to underpin your innovative and creative ideas.
You will follow briefs and challenges that come straight from industry, as well as having the chance to work with students from other courses in team-based collaborative projects. You will study in the culturally and artistically rich community of Cambridge School of Art, with access to all our industry-standard facilities. Cambridge is at the forefront of the digital revolution, with many digital agencies and digitally-reliant companies starting up or opening divisions here in recent years, including Sookio, Onespacemedia and Amazon.
Our teaching staff and technicians will support you to develop your skills in drawing and visual communication; core design skills; interactive design; video; digital photography; web design; mobile apps; sound design; user interfaces; and digital animation, as well as highly sought after transferable skills such as team work, project planning, digital portfolio creation and marketing.
At the end of the course you will showcase your work as part of our annual Degree Show, which is attended every year by industry professionals and recruitment agencies, as well as parents, friends and alumni.

We work with employers to make sure you graduate with the knowledge, skills and abilities they need. They help us review what we teach and how we teach it – and they offer hands-on, practical opportunities for you to learn through work-based projects, internships and placements.
Our links with major companies in Cambridge, such as Sookio, Frontier and Jagex, will allow you to engage with live briefs and competitions to enhance your portfolio and give you experience of working life.
Our in-house employability advisers organise and run workshops, seminars, networking events, portfolio reviews and design challenges. They'll also help you find vital work experience, allowing you to graduate with the skills and confidence you'll need to succeed in the creative workplace. By completing our BA (Hons) Digital Media course you'll be prepared not only for roles in the current digital media industry, including web design, social media analysis, content writing, videography, motion graphic artist or interactive designer, but also for near-future careers such as digital culture commentator or virtual habitat designer. You might even invent your own new role in this fresh and exciting cultural landscape.
