Open up to a world of options. This course is your first academic step towards a rewarding teaching career. It will also give you the skills you need to explore your prospects beyond the classroom.
This program is designed to provide students with the first year units included in the Arts degree. The inclusion of additional preparatory units is designed to assist students in the transition to study at University level. The Diploma is delivered via extended face to face hours in smaller learning environments.
Students who successfully complete this Diploma will articulate into the Arts (Pathways to Teaching Birth-5/Birth-12) degree with up to one year (80 credit points) equivalent of advanced standing.
Be a critical thinker, not a narrow specialist. Alongside a major in Education Studies and a sub-major in Early Childhood Studies, you’ll have the option to choose an Arts major in Cultural and Social Analysis, English, History and Political Thought, or International Relations and Asian Studies.
When you successfully complete the 16-month diploma from The College, you gain guaranteed entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Arts (Pathway to Teaching Birth-5/Birth-12) at Western Sydney University.
To apply, you won’t need an ATAR; all you’ll need are ambition and the determination to work hard. Once you’re here, our mission is to make sure you have the supportive learning environment and flexibility to transform your life. That includes smaller class sizes with greater access to one-on-one teaching and support. Our Extended Diplomas also cover extra introductory units that will prepare you for success in your tertiary studies and beyond.
At The College, we’re dedicated to your success. We know that if you’re given a supportive learning environment with a dedicated team of educators, anything is possible. Our wide range of pathway options include University Foundation Studies, Extended Diplomas and Integrated Diploma/Bachelor courses. Your success starts here.
