Admission Requirements

Entry Requirement

  • A completed Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from a University or other tertiary education provider.

OR

  • Relevant Industry experience from the agricultural/business sector of at least 2 years or equivalent knowledge gained through alternate means.

AND

  • Minimum CSU English Language Proficiency requirements apply.

English requirement

  • IELTS: Minimum overall score of 6 and no individual score below 5.5

  • TOEFL IBT: An overall score of 60 with minimum score of: 14 in R/L/S, 16 in Writing section.

  • PTE Academic: An overall score of 50 with minimum score of: 42 in each section.

  • TOEFL PBT: An overall score of 550 with minimum score of: 4 in Test for Written English Score.

  • International Second Language: Proficiency Rating (ISLPR) An overall score of Level 3 with minimum score of: Level 3 in all four skill areas.

  • Cambridge (CPE) Pre 2015:N/A

  • Cambridge English Scale: CAE and CPE from 2015 Minimum overall score of 169 and no individual score below 162.

Course Information

The Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Agriculture develops your knowledge and skills across agricultural and natural systems, agribusiness and the humanities. This course focuses on major issues and viewpoints confronting industrialised agriculture and society in relation to conservation of the environment and sustainable development. It also develops your understanding of natural ecosystems and how that knowledge can be applied to agricultural ecosystems. You can work your way through the Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Sustainable Agriculture, At each level you’ll receive credit for the subjects completed in the previous course. You can chose from a wide range of elective subjects to meet your interests, including /rural management, irrigation and water resource management, cropping systems management, and extension and capacity building. Charles Sturt University's study options provide you with choices about when, where and how you learn. You can study at your own pace, completing between one and four subjects a session, or choose to study a limited range of subjects during Session 3 (November to February) to speed up your progress through the course.
