Academic requirements are: completion of Secondary School (attach evidence). Non-completion will be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on reasons for preparing for the IELTS exam.
For entry to the IELTS Target 6.0 10-week cycle: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. An overall IELTS mark of 5.5 with no parts under 5.0 achieved in the last 2 years will be accepted as proof of this, but is not essential. Being assessed as at an SCIC UpperIntermediate level will also suffice.
For entry to the IELTS Target 7.0 10-week cycle: IELTS 6 or equivalent. An overall IELTS mark of 6.0 with no parts under 5.5 achieved in the last 2 years will be accepted as proof of this, but is not essential. Being assessed as at an SCIC Advanced level will also suffice.
Students who are below an Upper-Intermediate level will be placed in the General English program until assessed as ready for the IELTS Target 6.0 & 7.0 course.

Components: IELTS THROUGH TOPICS: Students study two topics per week (e.g. Psychology and Education) and cover a variety of vocabulary items and grammar structures found in the IELTS tests of English.IELTS EXAM SKILLS: Students cover the skills required in each section of the IELTS tests of English, both General Training and Academic. Four skills are covered each week (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking).
