To enrol at Flinders as a postgraduate student you must meet the following academic requirements for admission as follows:
The equivalent of a three-year Australian bachelors degree.
Some degrees may require work experience to meet the entry requirements. A reference or statement from the employer will be required.

TOEFL 72 (Speaking and Writing no less than 18)

PTE: 50 (Writing and Speaking no less than 50)
Applicants who hold an approved bachelor degree in any discipline are eligible for the basic entry level, and will complete up to 72 units of study. Applicants who hold a bachelor degree in education, teaching or a closely related discipline are eligible for the 1.5-year program, and will complete up to 54 units of study.
The postgraduate education program is intended for people currently employed in education, special education or education management, and for those who have an interest in developing their knowledge and practice in these areas. It introduces knowledge and skills in your area of interest, with a focus on understanding and changing practice.
Masters offers quality research training and an introduction to traditions of thought and analysis in educational policy and practice. It gives advanced insights into theoretical and practical matters in education to improve professional decision making.
What you will study
Students undertaking the graduate certificate may select their own program of study by enrolling in any combination of topics offered in the following specialisations: cognitive psychology and educational practice, gifted education, higher education, international baccalaureate middle years program (IBMYP), languages education, leadership and management, special education, wellbeing and positive mental health.
Masters students complete an in-depth coursework program consisting of topics selected from the following specialisations: cognitive psychology and educational practice, educational research, evaluation and assessment, gifted education, higher education, international baccalaureate, languages education, leadership and management, special education, wellbeing and positive mental health.
Course aims
Master of Education expand and apply in–depth knowledge of:
policies and practices related to their area of interest;
methods for fostering interdisciplinary and intercultural partnerships and working collaboratively;
theoretical and practical matters in education in such a way as to improve professional decision making;
curriculum, pedagogy and assessment policies and practices designed to improve learning outcomes and student/client well-being;
theoretical and practical matters related to their area of interest.

further enhance dispositions, cognitive skills, reflective awareness and creativity to facilitate the application of evidence-based knowledge, skills and capacities to educational practices

The courses are designed to meet the increasing demand for professional development of current teachers and other professionals. They are not designed to be an initial preparation for teaching and do not lead to teacher registration. Graduates are suitable for careers in a variety of positions ranging from work as teachers in school classrooms, school coordinators and principals, curriculum and policy advisers in departments of education, and as advisers to government and other policy makers.
