BENG (HONS) MECHANICAL AND BIOMEDICAL TECHNOLOGY
SQA Higher: BBBB - BBBC to include Maths and either Engineering Science, Physics or Technological Studies. English and Biology at National 5 grade C or above is required if not held at Higher.
GCE A Level: BCC to include Mathematics and one from Physics, Design Technology, Electronics, or Engineering. GCSE English and Biology at grade 5/C or above is required if not held at A Level.
Irish Leaving Certificate Higher: H2H2H3H3 - H2H3H3H3 to include Maths and either Physics or Technological Studies. English and Biology at grade O3 or above is required if not held at Higher.
IB Diploma: 28-27 to include Higher Level Maths and Physics, one of which must be at grade 6 and one at grade 5. English and Biology is required at a minimum of Standard Level grade 4.

This course is designed to meet the demand for graduates with mechanical engineering and biomedical technology skills to work in the fast-growing medical device and life science industry.
Specialists with knowledge of biomedical technology and the ability to apply engineering principles to biomedical systems and biomedical technology are in short supply. This course will give you the skills and knowledge to make a positive difference in this evolving and exciting industry.

The medical devices and life sciences industries are fast-growing and there is currently a shortage of well qualified graduates. The industry needs people who have an awareness of the relevant legislation and the problem solving skills and knowledge of engineers.
