Course Information

Why study occupational safety and health management with us

Building on your previous qualifications (such as a NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma in Higher Education) or experience, our occupational safety course mixes theory with practice to give you the additional knowledge, skills and practical experience to progress in your career.

You’ll graduate with the specialist skillset to competently carry out risk appraisals for safety, hygiene, health and environmental issues, and gain the confidence to implement solutions that will create positive workplace cultures.

Our course has excellent graduate employment rates (Destination of Leavers in Higher Education survey), with many of our graduates pursuing international careers in areas including health, transport, education and government agencies.

Learn to apply your new safety appraisal skills

You’ll pay regular visits to our industry partners to build your practical experience, develop your communication skills, enhance your problem-solving ability, and learn how to confidently carry out risk appraisals.

We’ve got a reputation for excellence and work closely with our network of employers to make sure our course meets the current needs of the industry.

You’ll have access to specialist resources – including top-of-the-range equipment and labs for HSE monitoring and assessment – throughout your studies.

Get the support you need to succeed

While you’re learning, you’ll be matched with a Personal Tutor directly related to your course. You’ll also get support from our Student Learning and Graduate Academic Assistants, who have experience in your subject area.

Our course is equivalent to the final year of a degree (see the Entry Requirements tab for more information) and is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
