Your level of English is assessed before you begin your general Academic English course so that your study duration is matched to your particular needs.
The College’s English language program concentrates on developing the skills you will need to become a successful and confident language user. Emphasis is placed on improving your general language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will study a variety of topics which are interesting and fun, and relevant to students studying in Australia.
You are assessed regularly with weekly reviews, reading and writing tasks, speaking and presentations, and ongoing testing. Participation and your classroom use of English are also taken into consideration. Your program is based in the classroom with some excursions and activities which take you out into the community to use the language you have learnt.
