The University of Southern Queensland (USQ) is offering one PhD scholarship to carry out a research project that will contribute to dementia research and treatment. The Dementia research project is focused on the application of multidisciplinary theories and approaches to the prevention and treatment of dementia and the development of or evaluation of innovative policy interventions.
Value:
- Stipend of AUD $30 000 per annum.
- Full tuition fees for a period of 6 semesters (full-time equivalent). Domestic students will be allocated a Research Training Program (RTP) Fees Offset Place, whereas international students will be offered an International Fees Research Scholarship.
- The maximum period of tenure of an award is three years. Periods of study already undertaken towards the degree will be deducted from the period of tenure.
Eligibility:
- To be eligible applicants must:
- be either an Australian citizen, permanent resident or international student
- not hold a qualification regarded by the USQ to be equivalent to a PhD;
- have a qualification regarded by USQ to be equivalent, or at higher level to a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours;
- be eligible to be enrolled, full-time on-campus in a PhD;
- not be in receipt of similar funding from the Australian Government
- be native English speakers and/or meet USQ’s English Language Requirements
Future Community Leader Scholarship
In 2020, USQ will offer 10 Future Community Leader Scholarships.
The scholarship is for students commencing full-time study at USQ and is offered in recognition of students' participation in the community and to provide maximum opportunity for students to start tertiary study at one of USQ's campuses.
Value
Each scholarship will have a maximum value of $6000.
The scholarship is paid as a stipend per unit/per semester (24 units over a maximum of 4 years).
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- be an Australian Citizen or have permanent resident status
- have completed Year 12 in 2019
- have a sound level of academic achievement
- be commencing their studies at USQ in a bachelor's degree in Semester 1 2020
- be enrolled in a minimum of 3 study units in each of Semester 1 and Semester 2 of each year of study
- be studying on-campus, external or online.
Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship
In 2020, USQ will offer 40 Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships.
The scholarship is to reward high academic achievers who also performed various leadership roles at their school or within their local community.
Value
- Each scholarship will have a maximum value of $12 000.
- The scholarship is paid as a stipend per unit/per semester (24 units over a maximum of 4 years).
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- be an Australian Citizen or have permanent resident status
- have completed Year 12 in 2019
- have a high level of academic achievement
- be commencing their studies at USQ in a bachelor's degree in Semester 1 2020
- be enrolled in a minimum of 3 study units in each of Semester 1 and Semester 2 of each year of study
- be studying on-campus, external or online.
International Tuition Fee Scholarship
In Semester 2 2019 and Semester 3 2019, the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) will offer a 20% tuition fee scholarship to International students commencing on-campus study in Master of Professional Accounting, Master of Information Systems or Master of Business Administration.
Value
- Each scholarship will have a maximum value of 20% of the tuition fees for the duration of the approved study program.
- The scholarship will be applied as a 20% reduction of the tuition fees.
(Students are responsible for paying the remainder of the fees as per the offer letter)
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- be an International student
- not be a sponsored student
- be a commencing student (i.e. be new to USQ)
- receive an offer to study for Semester 2 or 3, 2019 for a place in one of the following postgraduate degree programs offered by the University of Southern Queensland:
- Master of Professional Accounting
- Master of Information Systems
- Master of Business Administration
- have successfully completed an undergraduate degree program at AQF 7 or equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0 or GPA 6.0/10.0 or 60% average overall or equivalent.
USQ Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Equity Bursary
USQ is also offering a number of HDR Equity Bursaries up to the value of $1000 for current international students experiencing demonstrable acute financial difficulty.
Eligibility
Applications for the USQ HDR Equity Bursary will be considered from students who:
- are currently enrolled in a USQ HDR program
- are an international student, not an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
- are studying within Australia
- can demonstrate real and enduring financial hardship.
Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview.
