Year 11 is when you will start working towards your Higher School Certificate* (HSC). At the beginning of Year 11 you will select the subjects you wish to study over the next two years, in Year 11 and in Year 12. English is the only compulsory subject. The preliminary courses you will study during Year 11 are the prerequisite courses for your HSC courses. In Year 11 you will need to study six total subjects, five of which you will continue to study during Year 12.
Our teaching style helps students make a smooth transition from school to university. You will be encouraged to ask questions, participate in class and develop the key study skills needed for success at university. This includes carrying out research, giving presentations and learning independent study techniques. In addition to your academic studies, you will have the opportunity to take part in a career development program. This involves a series of workshops designed to help identify your skills and areas of interest, which will guide your university and career goals.
