Course Information

The Bachelor of Business Administration – Management Information Systems (MIS) program focuses on the application of technology to provide strategic advantage and gain operational efficiencies in business environments. The curriculum prepares students for careers as business/systems analysts, information security analysts, technology specialists and IT management.

In addition to the core curriculum for the Bachelor of Business Administration – Management Information Systems (MIS), students will complete courses in the areas of systems analysis and infrastructure, application programming, data management, information security and emerging technologies. The curriculum includes several business electives, allowing students to tailor the program to their specific interests. The program requires that each student complete an internship experience within the IT field as well as a capstone project that demonstrates the student’s ability to apply their knowledge to a real-world business problem. Additionally, most courses are designed to include the application of theory and practices through projects that address common business problems. This focus on “applied business” distinguishes MSOE’s students from those in other business programs.
