The Department of Chemical Engineering is moving away from the petrochemical field of the 20th century toward the fields of, among others, display technologies, electronics and computers, future energies and the environment, and high-tech medical science. In addition, the Department plays a leading role in combining technologies such as information technology, bio technology, nanotechnology, and environment technology, and as such, is creating a growth engine for the 21st century.
