Course Information

Fashion is competitive. Get the best start

Kick start your fashion design career with a degree from the school that has produced designers like Kate Sylvester, Kathryn Wilson, Rebecca Taylor, and Sean Kelly (Project Runway NY winner, 2014).

Fashion design is a major in the Bachelor of Design with Honours.

Massey's fashion design major has been the starting point for many successful fashion designers who now own or work in multi-million dollar fashion businesses. Studying design with an emphasis on fashion prepares you for a broad range of opportunities and roles in the creation and sale of apparel, or other design-related careers, locally and internationally.

The Fashion Design major produces creative and innovative designers with a broadly-based design education; an interactive approach to apparel design, manufacturing technology, local and global fashion markets; and the ability to respond sensitively to social, cultural and environmental issues.

Degree-level study of Fashion Design teaches innovative and creative design of apparel, skills in producing patterns and prototype garments, knowledge of textile materials, market and trend analysis, and helps you develop the ability to position fashion products in the marketplace.
