Course Information

A Bachelor of Interior Design (Commercial) provides the knowledge required to design the ever-changing features of our commercial environments, such as retail, hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and workspaces. It anticipates online virtual commercial environments, engages with contemporary theory and represents spatial environments with computer 3D modelling.

Throughout this course, you will explore the theoretical and practical elements of designing and making commercial interiors – branding, lighting, sustainability and materiality – to create environments that meet your client’s needs. You will discover how commercial interior-design strategies are developed and assessed, as well as practical industry-based management skills, such as documentation, contract management, professional design practice and cross-disciplinary interaction. Using industry standard software, you’ll develop the skills to communicate information that’s relevant to designing, costing and constructing interiors, and find out how to represent spatial environments. The course engages you in contemporary theory and provides an overview of the leading interior-design trends and a look towards the future.
