Admission Requirements

Entry requirements

UCAS points A Level BTEC
104 BCC - Requires Maths A level. Other A Levels may come from a selection of either Engineering or Technology, Science, Design, Computing or Business related subjects. General studies/critical thinking not accepted. DMM -  Requires Extended Diploma in Engineering (DMM) to include Distinction in Further Maths

 

English requirements

  • GCSE: Grade 4/C in English and Mathematics.
  • IGCSE English at grade C or above.
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band).
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) 51 (with no less than 42 in any band).
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 72 with band scores of reading 18, writing 17, listening 17, speaking 20.

Course Information

From the world’s tallest buildings and most spectacular bridges, to airports, highways, hospitals, rail networks and flood defences, civil engineers provide the critical infrastructure that makes our world work. You will learn to apply the principles of structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics and hydrology, environmental engineering, materials, surveying and construction.

You will also discover the latest techniques and developments, such as low- carbon materials and sustainability. For this degree we have a strategic partnership with the world-renowned BRE to give you access to specialist facilities, projects and lectures. To become professionally recognised as a Chartered Engineer, graduates from the programme will be required to complete approved CEng Further Learning.
