The property industry is a dynamic field that reacts to macroeconomic trends like interest rates, population growth and economic strength. There is a constant demand for graduates with skills in management, planning investment and negotiation.
This course will introduce you to all aspects of property management, including valuation, development, sustainability, and financing projects. You'll comprehensively examine real estate – from development, investment and management, through to sale and acquisition. You'll develop skills in areas including business planning and project management and learn from the relationships between – and the demands of – occupiers developers, investors and funders.

Our course is designed to prepare you to succeed in the property industry, through work placements, working on real projects from industry, input from industry professionals, and regularly updated course content.

Getting your full RICS membership
If you aspire to become a RICS Chartered Surveyor, you will need to complete at least two years of relevant professional work experience – the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). If you undertake a sandwich placement, this will normally count as the first year of your professional work experience (only for RICS), however at least 12 months of study must take place on a graduate training scheme. Our Employability team run a series of events throughout the year specifically for Property Management and Development students, and each year, NTU hosts the largest graduate property fair in the UK, giving you the opportunity to network with national and international companies.
Excellent placement opportunities
By choosing our sandwich (4 year) route, you’ll have the opportunity to take a year-long work placement during your studies, giving you the opportunity to gain real experience in industry. A significant number of students also return with a graduate job offer, or sponsorship for their final year.
Where can I work?
Real Estate students typically gain placements with consultancies, developers, real estate management companies and investors, or roles on the client's side, looking after large retail and leisure estates.
Recent destinations have included Gerald Eve LLP, Faithful+Gould, Lambert Smith Hampton and Barker Storey Matthews. Typical job roles include: estates management technician, property analyst (valuation), trainee surveyor, junior valuer, junior surveyor, estates assistant, and property developer.
