UOW College assumes students will have studied the equivalent of Year 12 HSC Mathematics Advanced and achieved minimum 50% AND Year 12 HSC Physics and achieved minimum 50%. Applicants who have met the entry requirements to this course but have NOT satisfied the 'Assumed Knowledge and Recommended Studies' requirements are strongly advised to apply for the 2903 Diploma of Engineering (3 Session).
To gain entry into this course you need to have met the following requirements:
IELTS Academic 6.0 (min 5.5 in Reading and Writing) or equivalent completed in the last two years; or
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS COMPLETED IN ENGLISH: Applicants may be considered as meeting the English language requirement if successfully completing two (2) years of secondary or tertiary study at an approved institution where:
the language of instruction was English; and
the institution is located in a country where the official language is English.
Academic transcripts and an official letter from the institution certifying that English was the sole language of instruction and assessment must be provided. Previous study in English is considered on a case-by-case basis and does not automatically meet UOW's English language requirement.

In the Diploma of Engineering Fast Track you will address these fundamental questions and gain the skills to be better prepared to succeed at your UOW bachelor. The course involves core first-year engineering subjects, which include theoretical and practical components, and hands-on experience in fundamental areas of engineering. You’ll explore various engineering disciplines, including maths and physics. You will also graduate with a Higher Education Diploma to help get you into the workforce while completing your bachelor's degree.
The Diploma of Engineering is designed to provide a guaranteed* pathway into the second year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at UOW. The program will support you in developing tertiary learning skills to help you to achieve your goals for university studies. The three session Diploma provides tertiary academic skills, training in English language proficiency, and introductory mathematics and physics subjects, and one elective business subject. Students will study the core first year subjects of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences at UOW. This course offers you the opportunity to focus on an area of speciality by undertaking elective subjects aligned with the disciplines of engineering that you would like to pursue. The Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences at UOW is an Associate Member of the Group of Eight Australian Engineers and Associates.
