Minimum ATAR equivalent 55 (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank), OR
Minimum 65% in 4 HSC Subjects (or equivalent), OR,
Minimum 70% in 3 HSC Subjects (or equivalent), OR
Interstate ATAR equivalent (such as Victoria’s ENTER or Queensland OP), OR
Results in an overseas qualification deemed equivalent to minimum ATAR, OR
International Baccalaureate (IB)
If any of the above entry requirements are not met, applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
To gain entry into this course you need to have met the following requirements:
IELTS Academic 6.0 (min 6.0 in Reading and Writing) or equivalent completed in the last two years; or
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS COMPLETED IN ENGLISH: Applicants may be considered as meeting the English language requirement if successfully completing two (2) years of secondary or tertiary study at an approved institution where:
the language of instruction was English; and
the institution is located in a country where the official language is English.
Academic transcripts and an official letter from the institution certifying that English was the sole language of instruction and assessment must be provided. Previous study in English is considered on a case-by-case basis and does not automatically meet UOW's English language requirement.

You will learn the language and nature of science and mathematics, and will be able to follow your interests in specific areas of science. Tertiary skills development embedded in the Diploma of Science prepares you for successful participation at UOW, with an emphasis on a range of practical laboratory and written work, including group work.

Bachelor of Science Education (Chemistry First Teaching Area) - Credit includes entry into 1st Year, 2nd Session (6 subjects, 36 credit points) **Must apply via UAC, on successful completion of the UOW College program.
Bachelor of Science Education (Biology First Teaching Area) - Credit includes entry into 1st Year, 2nd Session (5 subjects, 30 credit points) **Must apply via UAC, on successful completion of the UOW College program.
Bachelor of Science Education (Earth & Environmental Sciences First Teaching Area) - Credit includes entry into 1st Year, 2nd Session (7 subjects, 42 credit points) **Must apply via UAC, on successful completion of the UOW College program.
