These prerequisite courses ensure the students have adequate knowledge to be successful in the subsequent course. When registering for a course, the student must submit a proof of prerequisite. Submit the most updated transcript or a final report card with the prerequisite on it.
This course enables students to broaden their understanding of relationships and extend their problem-solving and algebraic skills through investigation, the effective use of technology, and abstract reasoning. Students will explore quadratic relations and their applications; solve and apply linear systems; verify properties of geometric figures using analytic geometry; and investigate the trigonometry of right and acute triangles. Students will reason mathematically and communicate their thinking as they solve multi-step problems.

COURSE DETAILS
Unit 1: Linear Systems
Students will explore and determine the characteristics of lines and their corresponding equations through the use of spreadsheets, graphing technology, and paper and pencil.
Unit 2: Analytical Geometry
Students will use concrete materials, diagrams, drawings and dynamic geometric software to investigate the properties of three dimensional objects, optimal measurements and geometric relationships of two dimensional figures.
Unit 3: Quadratic Functions
Students will learn characteristics of quadratic equations and its graph to analyse and solve problems using graphs, and algebra.
Unit 4: Trigonometry
Students will learn Trigonometry ratios to solve missing values in a triangle and compare two or more triangles with each other to determine their characteristics.
