These prerequisite courses ensure the students have adequate knowledge to be successful in the subsequent course. When registering for a course, the student must submit a proof of prerequisite. Submit the most updated transcript or a final report card with the prerequisite on it.
This course enables students to enhance their understanding of concepts in biology, chemistry, earth and space science, and physics, and of the interrelationships between science, technology, society, and the environment. Students are also given opportunities to further develop their scientific investigation skills. Students will plan and conduct investigations and develop their understanding of scientific theories related to the connections between cells and systems in animals and plants; chemical reactions, with a particular focus on acid–base reactions; forces that affect climate and climate change; and the interaction of light and matter.

COURSE DETAILS
Unit 1: Chemistry (Chemical Reactions)
Students will learn about characteristics of different chemical compounds and different chemical reactions to distinguish them.
Unit 2: Biology (Tissues, Organs and Systems of Living Things)
Students will study of specialized cells, tissues, and organs that are organized into systems and demonstrate their understanding of the materials.
Unit 3: Earth and Space Science (Climate Change)
Student will understand that Earth’s climate is dynamic and is the result of interacting systems and processes.
Unit 4: Physics (Light and Geometric Optics)
Students will explore the various characteristics and properties of light with respect to the reflection in mirrors and refraction in lenses.
