These prerequisite courses ensure the students have adequate knowledge to be successful in the subsequent course. When registering for a course, the student must submit a proof of prerequisite. Submit the most updated transcript or a final report card with the prerequisite on it.
This course furthers students’ understanding of the processes involved in biological systems. Students will study cellular functions, genetic continuity, internal systems and regulation, the diversity of living things, and the anatomy, growth, and function s of plants. The course focuses on the theoretical aspects of the topics under study, and aids students in refining skills related to scientific investigation.

Unit 1: Matter, Chemical Trends, Chemical Bonding
Students will study characteristics of matter and naming chemical compounds.
Unit 2: Chemical Reactions
Students will learn to identify different chemical reactions and predict products.
Unit 3: Quantities in Chemical Reactions
Students will learn to analyse, calculate the necessary quantities reactants/products of chemical reactions.
Unit 4: Solutions and Solubility (Acids, Bases and Titrations)
Students will learn about the characteristics of solutions. Students will learn to calculate molarity, and predict resulting products and quantity from given molarities.
Unit 5: Gas Laws
Students will study different gas laws to predict products and its quantity.
