Course Information

Be at the forefront of an emerging field in senior secondary education. Psychology will be offered as a subject in Queensland schools for Year 11 and 12 students from 2019, and teachers will be prepared to roll out the new syllabus after successfully completing USQ’s Graduate Certificate of Science (Psychology in Schools) specialisation.

This specialisation will utilise the applications taught in USQ’s Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and has been tailored to prepare secondary school teachers to deliver and assess in the fledgling psychology syllabus.

You will have the chance to work with an experienced USQ researcher/mentor to plan, conduct, analyse, and communicate results from a self-selected experiment or research investigation. You will gain the key research skills in psychology that the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) expects psychology teachers to display, teach, and assess in senior secondary psychology.
