Students are expected to enrol initially in the Graduate Certificate. However, they will be able to enrol directly into either the Graduate Diploma or Master's program if they so chose but their entry into these two latter stages of the program will depend upon their having completed the assessment requirements of the Graduate Certificate and the Graduate Diploma respectively.
Students will be able to enter the program:
from a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in an area of maritime operations, engineering or technology 3;
from an Advanced Diploma or equivalent in an area of maritime operations related study together with extensive relevant work experience;
the following seafaring Certificate of Competency with relevant maritime experience:
Master (STCW Reg II/2)
Chief Mate (STCW Reg II/2)
Engineer Class 1 (STCW Reg III/2)
Engineer Class 2 (STCW Reg III/2)
on the basis of extensive relevant work experience and a potential to undertake work at this level as demonstrated through Recognition of Prior Learning processes in accordance with the AMC procedure 'Credit for Prior learning' and approved by the Director (NCPS).
Students will be able to enter the Graduate Diploma following completion of the Graduate Certificate or a similar and equivalent award from another tertiary institution.
