Africa School of Education and Professional Development Scholarships
This scholarship is worth £2000 towards the cost of your tuition fees, in addition to the Scholarships for new international Master's students. It is available for all African students who are self-funded and have applied for a postgraduate taught course in the School of Education and Professional Development. Students will be automatically considered for this so a separate application form is not required
Nigerian Postgraduate Taught Scholarships
- £4000 scholarship available to all Nigerian nationals.
- Must be full fee paying, and self-funded
- Available for the 2019/2020 Intake only and for both the September and January Intakes
- The £4000 includes the £2000 International Student Scholarship

Nigeria £500 Early Payment Discount
- £500 scholarship available to all Nigerian nationals who pay their deposit by the following deadline:

Nigerian Schools Postgraduate Taught Scholarship
- £1000 scholarship available for Nigerian applicants from NCUK Centres, Regent College, and GIC.

Chevening Scholarships
This prestigious and highly competitive award is a full scholarship covering your tuition fees and living expenses. Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK.
Commonwealth Scholarships
If you are from a Commonwealth country and are thinking about postgraduate level study(Master's or PhD), there may be help available in the form of Commonwealth Scholarships awarded by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the UK.
These scholarships can not be awarded in conjunction with the University of Huddersfield Scholarships for new international undergraduate and Master's students.
Marshall Scholarships for students from the USA

Full scholarships are available for students from the USA wishing to come and study at the University on a Master's Degree (MA, MSc, etc)
Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship
Free tuition is available for graduates from the University that wish to study on a research degree. You will need to have graduated with a Bachelor or Master's degree and have a minimum classification.
- Free tuition fees
- Eligible programmes – postgraduate research degree or PhD
- Considered on application (must state you wish to be considered for postgraduate research degree or PhD on application)
- Must have graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a first-class Undergraduate degree or a Postgraduate Master's taught or research award with no more than minor corrections in last 12 months
- Must study postgraduate research degree or PhD full-time

£500 Visa Application Scholarship
- For applicants from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
- Applies to any year of entry, undergraduate and postgraduate full time full fee paying courses.
- Applicants need to pay the minimum deposit of 50% of tuition fees to be recieved by 31st August 2019 for September 2019, or 30th November 2019 for January 2020 intake.
- Scholarship will be applied on receipt of payment by the admissions team
China Early Payment Scholarship 2019
A £500 scholarship for students applying from China.
This scholarship applies to applications which satisfy the following criteria:
- For applicants from China
- New or existing offer holders
- Applying to any year of entry, UG or PG, full time fee paying courses
- A minimum deposit (50%) of tuition fee is received by 31st August 2019 for September 2019 intake, or 30th November 2019 for January 2020 intake.
Malaysian International Scholarship – Capped Tuition Fees
This scholarship will be awarded to Malaysian applicants that have applied to study at the University for courses starting in September 2019 and January 2020.
£4,000 and £5,000 scholarships are available for courses in the following academic schools at the University:
Capped Fees of £10,000 for programmes in the following Schools:
- Business School
- Art, Design and Architecture
- Computing and Engineering
- Music, Humanities and Media
- Education and Professional Development
Capped Fees of £11,000 for programmes in the School of Applied Sciences
Open to applicants who are nationals of Malaysia only.
Available for new students to the University.
Available for both undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.
The £4000 or £5000 is the maximum scholarship available, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other scholarship.
Early Payment Scholarship
This is a £1000 or £500 scholarship for applicants who pay their deposit payment on the dates highlighted below.
The scholarship will automatically be awarded by the University admissions team on receipt of payment.
This scholarship is open to applicants from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand.
It applies to students applying for all undergraduate courses, postgraduate courses and Top-up courses for courses starting in January 2020, September 2020 and January 2021.
Southeast Asian Scholarships
The University of Huddersfield are pleased to invite applications for the Southeast Asian Scholarships.
A number of scholarships are available for self-funded students undertaking a full-time taught Master’s or Bachelor degrees. We are looking for exceptional students with outstanding academic records and career aspirations.
All scholarship applicants must be holding a valid conditional offer of a place on their chosen course of study.
- Reduction in tuition fees, ranging from £1,000 to £8,000.
- Eligible programmes – full-time taught Master's or Bachelors degrees in Huddersfield Business School, School of Education & Professional Development, School of Art, Design & Architecture, School of Computing and Engineering, School of Applied Sciences and School of Music, Humanities and Media.
- Must be an applicant originating and domiciled in one of the following countries: Vietnam, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar.
- Process requires a separate application to the University following receipt of an offer of a place – see application procedure for full requirements.
- Available for January 2020, September 2020, and January 2021 intakes.
