Course Information

Animation is a lively and exhilarating medium – it can make us laugh, cry, think and feel in its exploration of inner and outer worlds. It can express events, story and character through light, line and movement. It entertains audiences, whilst raising thought-provoking questions concerning truth, illusion, love, life and death. On the Animation Production BA(Hons) course we’ll help you define your preferred area of interest early on in your studies, and you'll continue to develop your skills throughout.

Why study Animation Production?

  • Have the opportunity to experience many aspects of animation, from mastering existing techniques and technologies to developing something new, supported by specialist tutors and technicians.
  • Collaborate with students across other subjects in art, design and technology to encounter new materials, styles and production processes to inform your own practice.
  • We’ll support you to develop your own visual language whilst learning to be aesthetically and conceptually playful.
  • Gain technical skills to help your ideas take shape though illustration, 3D, film, stop-motion, and kinetic technologies.

The course benefits from a diverse array of industrial, academic and research links which have developed out of the history of animation, illustration, interactive media and design at Huddersfield.
