Entry requirements

  • Submit complete secondary school records reflecting a cumulative grade of 75% (2.5 GPA equivalent) or higher.  Secondary school records are high school transcripts or mark sheets showing all classes and grades completed and date of graduation. Transcripts that are not in English or 4.00 grade scale should have an official evaluation and translation provided. 

  • Submit an official copy of High School Diploma or Graduation Certificate.

English requirements

  • Demonstrated English language proficiency. Before being accepted for admission to the university international students must demonstrate their English language proficiency.  For standard admission students may demonstrate proficiency by one of the following means:

    • TOEFL score of 530 (paper based), 195 (computer based), or 71 (internet based) with no band score below a 16.

    • IELTS scores of 6.0 overall with 5.0 or above in EVERY subject/skill category.

    • Duolingo English Test with a score of 95 or higher.

    • Japanese students may submit the EIKEN test with a passing score of Pre-1.

    • ACT English 18 and ACT Reading 20

    • SAT Evidence Based Reading/Writing 510

    • Successful completion of the ELS Level 112 Intensive English program in the United States. (See below for details.)

The EKU Emergency Medical Care Program is the longest-accredited Paramedic program in Kentucky and the second longest-accredited program in America, and has been providing outstanding education in pre-hospital emergency care since 1978. We offer well-established Associate of Science & Bachelor of Science degrees in Emergency Medical Care.

  • BIO 171, BIO 301; ENG 101 and 102, or 105 with a grade of “A” or “B” (ᴳElement 1A & 1B); 3 hrs General Education Humanities (ᴳElement 3B or 3A/B); 3 hrs of Social Science (ᴳElement 4 or 5B); 3hrs additional General Education.
