English Requirement
If English is your second language, a TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB score is required. A minimum total score of 80 on the Internet-based TOEFL (reading, listening, writing & speaking), 6 on the IELTS and 78 on the MELAB is required. Bellarmine's TOEFL code number is 1056. This requirement can be waived if you have been schooled in an English speaking country for at least one year or you have received a diploma from a recognized English language program.
ACT or SAT. Students for whom English is a second language and have outstanding language skills may submit either ACT (21 composite or higher) or SAT (1060 or higher) scores in lieu of other evidence.

The core of the Bellarmine accounting major is a four-year, 120-hour program that provides the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful accounting career.
Many students choose to obtain the 150-semester-hours required to take the Uniform CPA exam. Bellarmine offers several 150-hour alternatives, including supplemental minors, dual majors, or a dual BA/MBA.

The United States Department of Labor notes that employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow 16 percent from 2010 to 2020. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Salary Survey, accounting students earn starting salaries that exceed those in nearly every other field except engineering. Robert Half’s 2015 Salary Guide for Accounting and Finance reports starting salaries in public accounting range from approximately $45,000 to $68,000 per year; and manager level salaries (5 – 7 years of experience) range from approximately $79,000 to $139,000 per year.
All of the large “Big 4” CPA firms and Louisville-area regional and local CPA firms interview for Bellarmine students and, because of internship opportunities, many Bellarmine accounting students are offered career positions prior to graduation.
