Entry requirements

  • All undergraduate programs require a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale from high school (equivalent to a 78% on a 100% scale). In addition, if transferring from a language school or university, the GPA from those institutions must be a minimum of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (equivalent to a 75% on a 100% scale).

English requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English must submit a TOEFL or IELTS score to be considered for full-time undergraduate study. Other tests of English will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Requirements:

  • TOEFL: 65 (internet-based TOEFL)
  • IELTS: 5.5
  • ELS: Completion of Level 112
  • Completion of English composition one at a U.S. college or university.

As you earn a Bachelor of Arts in History, you’ll look at events, ideas, religions and laws to gain a better understanding of the values and beliefs that people have adopted throughout time.

Fontbonne provides a broad background in both Western and non-Western history as well as geography, government, sociology, psychology and American economy. And you can either earn a degree in history or choose a degree in history with a secondary teaching certification in social studies, which allows you to teach at the high school level.

Your studies with Fontbonne begin in the classroom, but extend well beyond the halls and libraries of campus. Add to your education through these and other unique learning opportunities:

  • Departmental relationships with the Missouri History Museum and other cultural institutions provide students access to history professionals and professional opportunities
