Entry Requirement

English Requirements

If English is not your first language or was not the medium of instruction in your secondary or tertiary studies, you are required to demonstrate your proficiency in the English language by achieving a prescribed level in an approved English examination or test before you can receive a full offer of a place.

  • IELTS (Academic version): 7.0 overall score, minimum 7.0 in each subtest

  • TOEFL internet-based score: Total score 94 overall, with Speaking 23, Listening 24, Reading 24 and Writing 27

  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 65 Overall; minimum 65 in each of the four skills Writing, Speaking, Listening and Reading in one sitting.

Your English language proficiency test must be no more than two years old at the time of your commencement at Western Sydney University.

If you have a strong interest in and aptitude for nursing, and want a career involving leadership in research and practice, this program is for you. The Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced) is designed to enhance your nursing study and skills through scholarly activities and mentorship.

The Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced) aims to challenge and further develop your capacity to become a nursing leader or researcher. You will participate in advanced prorgamwork, extension activities, research training and enhanced professional practice opportunities.

In this degree, you’ll explore more than just the scholarly elements of nursing and leadership. You’ll be given the chance to put theory into action in our on-campus simulated clinical practice settings, as well as undertaking placements in a range of healthcare settings.

You will undertake inquiry-based learning, learn how to apply physical and behavioural sciences to nursing, study evidence-based practice principles, and benefit from academic mentorship.This program is designed for high-achievers and students in the Advanced degree program are automatically enrolled in The Academy 

The Academy offers interdisciplinary leadership programs, professional development, and local and international internship and engagement opportunities.

Elective Unit

The elective unit in the Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced) may be chosen from across the University, provided that unit pre-requisites are met, space is available and students are able to meet all scheduled activities without compromising any nursing unit requirements.
