Second Year Program Options

• Student will work with a dedicated advisor over their first year and transfer to a major for their second year. Some recommended program options for the Life Science focus are:

• 3) Students interested in an Anthropology degree program should take Anthropology 1034 while students interested in Applied Life Sciences, Biology, and Chemistry programs should take Math 1171 in Year 1 (Winter term).

• 4) The Indigenous Content Requirement will be met by taking Anthropology 1034.

• 5) Students are advised to select winter term electives in consultation with their designated program advisor that might complement program requirements for the program into which they plan to enter in year 2.

• (v) Science Foundations option

• This option is open for students who are interested in a science degree but would like to refresh their foundational knowledge in one or more scientific disciplines. This provides the most flexibility to students. It will enable students to keep their options open with the ability to create a more customized first year experience.

• Students in Science Foundations option are recommended to consult their dedicated program advisor on a regular basis to establish a set of ten courses, including UNIV 1015, for their first year. It is recommended that students explore a balance of courses from the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies with up to two courses from outside the faculty. Students can pursue this option as a part-time or full-time student.
