Thông tin khóa học

The apprenticeship will allow you to develop as a reflective practitioner through being responsive, committed and compassionate in developing and applying their knowledge to support positive outcomes in the context of multi-agency working.

This programme is designed for practitioners who are currently engaged in employment in Children, Young People and Families services.

The Certificate in Higher Education Children, Young People and Families Practitioner apprentice has two optional outcomes: Community Practitioner or Residential Care Practitioner.

Of the 120 credits, 80 credits will be core shared learning, with the remaining 40 credits for the specialised option.

You will have a number of taught sessions at our Waterside campus which are designed to allow you to:

  • discuss your personal and professional development
  • discuss and gain feedback about your work
  • ask questions about the projects you’re working on

We will support you through our virtual learning environment, giving you access to all of the module learning material, as well providing a platform to discuss ideas, work or anything else with your tutors and fellow students. You will find lots of professional support on campus plus plenty of people to turn to if you need a helping hand.

  • The Level 3 Diploma Residential Childcare (England) is embedded within the programme learning outcomes.
  • The assessment strategy is designed to reflect the skills needed in practice with children, young people and families.

a) Each module has assessments including case studies, reports and presentations the attainment of which completes the Certificate of Higher Education.

b) To attain the Apprenticeship, an End Point Assessment must be passed. You will develop an e-Portfolio of evidence including the module assessments, feedback from 3-5 observations and a reflective journal. An External Assessor will Observe you in practice and conduct a Competency Interview with you.

Elements a and b must be attained to be awarded the Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship.

A visiting tutor will visit you to support the development of your portfolio in your employment-based learning environment regularly which will establish links between the your practice and academic studies.
