Applicants seeking entry to the program will have:
a) a completed three year Bachelor degree from a recognised higher education institution in media arts, visual effects or a related discipline OR
b) a completed Advanced Diploma in Screen and Media or equivalent from an accredited Registered Training Organisation OR
c) a Graduate Certificate in Dynamic Effects and Lighting
Alternatively, applications will be considered from applicants holding a completed academic qualification from a recognised higher education institution in an unrelated field who are able to demonstrate substantial experience in media arts or visual effects, demonstrable in the showreel and curriculum vitae submissions.

Applicants must submit a copy of their current resume, and a link to their online showreel through their SATAC application.
Your curriculum vitae should be no longer than two pages and must be a current professional résumé detailing education and work history; and must contain at least two referees.

concept artist: produce illustrations to assist production designers
digital preparation artist: digitally prepare the plate ready for the final image
layout artist: break down storyboards
matchmove artists: imitate camera movements in live action shots and match those movements in 3D computer animations
lighting technical director: ensure lighting, colour and mood are consistent
matte painter: create virtual backgrounds to replace or enhance live action photographed plates
VFX producer: responsible for the running of the project
roto artist: highlight the areas in live action frames where computer graphics overlap with live images
