It is a program requirement that all Bachelor of Physiotherapy students only enrol in courses offered at their designated home campus.

Year 1

You must complete the following courses:

• Cells, Tissues and Regulation - 1014MSC (Gold Coast students only)
• Human Biology - 1001NSC (Nathan students only)
• Anatomy and Physiology Systems I - 1016MSC
• Physiotherapy 1 - 1401AHS
• Physiotherapy 2 - 1402AHS
• Introduction to Psychology 2 - 1002PSY
• Physiotherapy 3 - 1403AHS
• Anatomy and Physiology Systems II - 1017MSC
• Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology - 1003PSY

Year 2

You must complete the following courses:

• Musculoskeletal Anatomy - 2010AHS
• Integrated Systems Physiology - 2012AHS
• Therapeutic Exercise for Physiotherapy - 2401AHS
• Physiotherapy 4 - 2403AHS
• Health Psychology - 2010PSY
• Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy 1 - 2404AHS
• Clinical Pharmacology for Allied Health - 2011PHM

Eligibility to progress to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) (1590) after Year 2 will be determined by the Program Director and will be subject to the following criteria:

• achievement of a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0 for all coursework at the completion of the second year of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy program and
• the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic and
• the resources available to support the candidature including availability of appropriate supervision.

Note: Entry is competitive and will be determined by order of academic merit and is subject to available supervisory resources.

If you do not achieve the standard necessary to progress to Honours, you will be required to remain in the Bachelor of Physiotherapy program and complete the following courses in Years 3 and 4:

Year 3

You must complete the following courses:

• Legal and Ethical Principles in Healthcare - 2805NRS
• Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy 2 - 3401AHS
• Neurological Physiotherapy - 3405AHS
• Physiotherapy Across the Lifespan 1 - 3407AHS
• Physiotherapy Across the Lifespan 2 - 3408AHS
• Clinical Reasoning and Evidence - 3406AHS
• Acute Care Physiotherapy - 3403AHS
• Integrated Case Management in Physiotherapy - 3409AHS
• Physiotherapy Practicum 1 - 4401AHS (see Note 1)
• Physiotherapy Practicum 2 - 4402AHS (see Note 1)

Note 1: Students have the option of undertaking 4401AHS Physiotherapy Practicum 1 and 4402AHS Physiotherapy Practicum 2 in either Year 3/Trimester 3 or Year 4/Trimester 1 or Trimester 2. Both courses must be completed during the program but do not need to be completed in the same trimester.

Note 2: Students must successfully complete all Year 1, 2 and 3 level courses before enrolling in year 4 level courses.

Exit Point: Bachelor of Rehabilitation Sciences (1653)

To exit (after completing the above prescribed courses), you should consult with your Program Director and apply for a program transfer.

Note: The Bachelor of Rehabilitation Sciences (1653) is only available to Griffith University Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) students who have completed at least 240CP of the program as prescribed above.

Once students have transferred to the Bachelor of Rehabilitation Sciences (1653), they are not permitted to reapply for or transfer back to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours).

Year 4

You must complete the following courses:

• First Peoples Health and Practice - 3121MED
• Contributing to the Community - 4313AHS
• Physiotherapy Practicum 1 - 4401AHS (see Note 1)
• Physiotherapy Practicum 2 - 4402AHS (see Note 1)
• Physiotherapy Practicum 3 - 4403AHS
• Physiotherapy Practicum 4 - 4404AHS
• Leadership and Professional Skills - 4408AHS
• Physiotherapy Practicum 5 - 4405AHS

Note 1: Students who complete 4401AHS Physiotherapy Practicum 1 or 4402AHS Physiotherapy Practicum 2 in Year 3/Trimester 3 are not required to complete these courses in Year 4. Both courses must be completed during the program.
