Prerequisites
* STPM/GCE A-levels (Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom); Hong Kong A-levels. Based on the score of a minimum of three A-level subjects taken in one academic year (an AS-level subject is considered half an A-Level). Scores are calculated as follows:
A-level: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1.
AS-level: A=2.5, B=2, C=1.5, D=1, E=0.5
AS-level subjects continued to A-level cannot be included in the calculation.

If you do not have one of the above qualifications, you may still be able to enter a La Trobe College Australia diploma program if you have successfully completed at least one year of an eligible senior secondary or post-secondary program within the last two years. This program must be at a suitable academic level, with English as the language of instruction. For a list of eligible programs, contact admissions@latrobemelbourne.edu.au. You may also meet the English language requirement through undertaking an English language direct entry course.
To receive a package offer for Foundation Studies or Diploma of Health Sciences leading to the Bachelor of Nursing, an IELTS score of minimum 6.5 overall (no band less than 6.5) is required. At the time of progressing to the bachelor’s degree students will need an IELTS score of minimum 7.0 overall (no band less than 7.0).
IELTS One Skill Retake
La Trobe College Australia accepts IELTS One Skill Retake. If a student misses one band score they can retake the test for that skill within 60 days from the original test date. This saves time and money for the student and allows them to successfully pass the English hurdle in a shorter amount of time.
The Diploma of Information Technology provides a broad introduction to computing, after which you will progress to a more specialised area during your degree such as computer networking, information systems, software development and web development.
You’ll begin to develop an understanding of the architecture and functions of computer networks, learn how to analyse and design information systems and create solutions to programming problems while learning a programming language.
The Diploma of Information Technology has two streams, each leading to a different Bachelor program. In both streams, you’ll study a total of eight units before graduation.
Students who enter with IELTS <6.0 or equivalent will be required to undertake the free Language Development Module as part of their program.
Information Technology stream
In the Information Technology stream, you’ll study six core units along with three electives to gain entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Information Technology.
Any three available electives offered in any other Diploma program that are currently available.
