Entry Requirements

Ontario High School Curriculum

  • Minimum admission range of low 70s.
  • Competitive admission range of low 80s.
  • English at 60%.

English Requirements

Laurier’s language of instruction is English. If your first language is not English, you must provide evidence of your English proficiency to our Recruitment and Admissions office.

You can:

  • Submit a minimum score on an accepted test of English proficiency (listed below); or

  • Complete the Laurier English and Academic Foundation (LEAF) program.

If you have studied in an English-language school system on a full-time basis for a minimum of three years, you may request an exemption.

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Internet-based testing (TOEFL iBT): an overall score of 83 or higher with a minimum score of 20 in each component.

  • Paper-based testing: 560 overall.

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS), An academic score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum of 6.0 in each band.

  • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL), 70 overall; 60 in each band.

  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE), 59 overall or higher.

  • Cambridge Assessment English (CAE), Overall score of 176.

  • Duolingo English Test, Minimum score of 115.

Course Information

In our Anthropology program, you'll explore how people in different places and times have fun, conduct business, solve disputes, resist exploitation and find meaning in life.

You'll develop an intercultural understanding of how people relate to one another and to the world around them. You'll gain practical experience that translates into the flexible skills needed in today's world.

  • A holistic understanding of socio-cultural processes;
  • Increased self-awareness and interpersonal skills;
  • An ability to advocate for cultural diversity, engage in persuasive argumentation for a variety of audiences and work in teams; and
