Cultural Studies takes a close look at popular and everyday culture. Cultural Studies analyzes art and literature, science and technology, media and popular texts in relation to the meaning of everyday life and how they helped shape history.
Courses at Laurier are exciting and innovative. You may find yourself tackling unique assignments while drawing critical conclusions about your everyday experiences.
Our courses introduce you to new ways of “reading” culture that embrace the world’s complexity. You'll explore topics such as popular music, visual culture, the culture of work and play, youth subculture and popular culture’s role in social change.
This program must be completed in combination with another Bachelor of Arts program. You can easily pair your studies with Communication Studies, English, Film Studies, Women and Gender Studies or Global Studies, among others.
