A business administration major from Mills will equip you to critically analyze the complex problems you’ll face. You’ll develop an understanding of social, cultural, and environmental contexts so you can develop socially responsible solutions. You’ll gain the persuasive writing and presentation skills to advocate effectively for your ideas. And you’ll learn to work across cultural differences and foster innovative, diverse teams.
Your courses will cover core business areas such as ethics, organizational behavior and leadership, marketing, accounting, economics, finance, and statistics. Your teachers will include accomplished researchers as well as professionals who bring management experience into the classroom. You'll be able to choose any combination of electives or complete a concentration in accounting, international business, management, marketing, nonprofit management, or social entrepreneurship.
As a business administration major, you’ll gain hands-on experience in your senior year by working with a team of classmates on a consulting project for a real-world organization. When you graduate, you’ll be prepared to launch a career or enter an MBA program. At Mills, you can earn an accelerated MBA with just one additional year of study or an accelerated joint MPP/MBA with two additional years of study.
If you major in a different field—such as music, art, English, theater, or computer science—the minor in business administration will provide practical tools that can enhance your professional opportunities.
