This double degree in mathematics and computer studies makes a valuable combination. While the Advanced Mathematics (Honours) degree focuses on in-depth understanding of pure and applied mathematics, the Computer Science degree looks at the design, construction and uses of computer systems. UNSW offers mathematics students advanced facilities combined with innovative teaching. Your mathematics studies will assist with the manipulation of data as well as the development of algorithms in computer science. The Advanced Mathematics component involves advanced coursework with an Honours-level research project.
There are more than seven Computer Science majors to choose from, including artificial intelligence, database systems, e-commerce, embedded systems, networks, programming languages and security.
