Admission Requirements

Entry requirements​​

  • ​40 credits NCEA Level 1, including 10 literacy credits and 10 numeracy credits

or

  • New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) (Level 3).

Note: If you have undertaken examinations other than NCEA (e.g. International Baccalaureate, Cambridge Examination), Ara will assess your qualification for academic entry equivalency.

.English requirements

  • IELTS: Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0
  • TOEFL Paper-based Test (pBT): Score of 530 (with an essay score of 4.5 TWE)
  • TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 46 (with a writing score of 14)
  • Pearson Test of English: PTE (Academic) score of 42 with no band score lower than 36
  • Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First or B2 First for schools with a score of 162. No less than 154 in each skill;
  • OET: Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests
  • NZCEL: a) Level 3 (Academic) b) Level 3 (Applied)
  • LanguageCert: B2 Communicator IESOL (LRWS) with PASS and no less than Pass in each skill
  • Trinity ISE: ISE II with no less than pass in any band

Take a leading role in office administration.

The skills you gain on this programme will enable you to provide administrative services to meet the needs of a business entity. You'll learn how to perform financial calculations, process data, produce information for business purposes, maintain administrative systems and processes, and make recommendations for improvements.

You'll also learn how to communicate effectively with stakeholders, work collaboratively to contribute to the achievement of team objectives, select and apply customer service techniques, comply with policies and legislation, and consistently meet expectations.
