Together with the Certificate IV in Guiding, this course will help you develop the skills and techniques required to work as a remote-area guide or nature-based guide who operates extended tours.
The program prepares you for the demands of the outdoor recreation industry. The courses focus on giving you a wide range of outdoor activity training to both guide and instructor level. Specific skills developed are in the areas of bushwalking, canoeing, rock climbing and abseiling.
The course content focuses on developing the capabilities required to plan and deliver an outdoor recreation program for a wide range of clients. Your classroom will be a mixture of both outdoors and our Waverley campus. Practical field trips and industry placement form part of the course. They may vary in length from single days to 15-day expeditions.
