Although it is not compulsory, participants in this course will benefit from being employed in roles that involve teaching, teaching support, training, instruction, clinical supervision or similar, as this will enable them to apply their learning in their specific work context and design and implement a work-based project. In cases where this is not possible, participants will be supported in planning and undertaking activities in a work-simulated context.
Academic IELTS of 6.5 or equivalent, with no band score below 6.0
If you’re a UC or TAFE Queensland staff member and have an undergraduate degree or sufficient professional experience from a partner institution, this course is an ideal platform to acknowledge and increase your skills in the area of designing, implementing and evaluating tertiary education learning activities.
You’ll undertake a range of self-organised applied learning activities relevant to your work or training context in: assessment; flexible learning environments; curriculum design; student engagement; and supervision, leadership and management. This unique and flexible course combines online, self-paced study with optional on-campus activities, allowing you to tailor your study pattern to your own personal and institutional needs.
This course has been developed with Work Integrated Learning (WIL) at its core. The content has been created by tertiary education professionals, and kept relevant and up-to-date through consistent monitoring of, and engagement with, the industry. You’ll undertake authentic tasks which are highly relevant to the day-to-day practice of education, dealing regularly with real-world problems, and will be expected to apply course learnings to your own educational employment context.
