
To be eligible to apply you will need to fulfill the following criteria:
A bachelor's degree, master's or research degree from an Australian institution or equivalent.
A minimum GPA of 4 out of 7.0 which is an approximate Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60 percent (this does not guarantee an offer of a place as places are limited and offers are made based on academic merit)
IELTS Academic: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
TOEFL iBT: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
PTE Academic: A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
The Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation Counselling offers career expansion for students wishing to add to their existing qualifications in social sciences or health sciences. You will be qualified to provide vocational evaluation, vocational counselling, and case management in workers compensation settings as a rehabilitation counsellor.
The aim of rehabilitation counselling is to assist people with disabilities or disadvantage to attain maximum participation in employment and community life through appropriate assessment, counselling, service provision and support.
During this course, you will study: vocational development and counselling, applied psychosocial and medical rehabilitation, case management, client assessment and job placement, work injury and worker's compensation, and rehabilitation philosophy.
You will have the opportunity to experience your chosen career path via clinical fieldwork placements in workers compensation and rehabilitation settings.
