Have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA while earning an undergraduate degree.
Official transcript(s) from any institution(s) in which postbaccalaureate or graduate course work was completed.

As part of this program you have the option to complete the requirements for teaching certification at the Middle Level, grades 4 -8. There will be an additional credit requirement consisting of 52 credits of education courses and 48 credits in an academic concentration and supporting areas (Science, Social Studies, Mathematics and English/ Language Arts), as dictated by the state of Pennsylvania for those earning their initial teaching certificate.

Requirements in the M.A. in Elementary/Middle Education Program with Initial Teaching Certification:
30 graduate level credits are focused on middle school theory, practice, and pedagogy (listed above).
Content-area undergraduate credits as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in content areas of English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. (Credits previously earned in the students’ undergraduate programs can be applied to the requirement.)
Test scores are required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for the 4-8 Middle Level Certificate.
