Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements

Ontario High School Curriculum

  • Minimum admission range of low 70s.
  • Competitive admission range of low 80s.
  • English at 60%.

English Requirements

Laurier’s language of instruction is English. If your first language is not English, you must provide evidence of your English proficiency to our Recruitment and Admissions office.

You can:

  • Submit a minimum score on an accepted test of English proficiency (listed below); or

  • Complete the Laurier English and Academic Foundation (LEAF) program.

If you have studied in an English-language school system on a full-time basis for a minimum of three years, you may request an exemption.

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Internet-based testing (TOEFL iBT): an overall score of 83 or higher with a minimum score of 20 in each component.

  • Paper-based testing: 560 overall.

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS), An academic score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum of 6.0 in each band.

  • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL), 70 overall; 60 in each band.

  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE), 59 overall or higher.

  • Cambridge Assessment English (CAE), Overall score of 176.

  • Duolingo English Test, Minimum score of 115.

Course Information

The Christian Studies and Global Citizenship program is offered through Martin Luther University College (formerly Waterloo Lutheran Seminary), which is federated with Wilfrid Laurier University. As a student in this program you’ll learn to think critically about your faith, the world and your place within it.

Our courses will provide you with essential skills, including the ability to communicate effectively. This program promotes a greater sense of social responsibility and spiritual awareness; an appreciation of diversity; and experience in serving the community.

This program equips you to pursue careers where you can integrate your spirituality, and/or worldview, into your life’s work

Gain global experience by taking an international study.

Get the best of both worlds: you’ll be studying at Luther and Laurier.
