The admission criteria have been grouped to assist you to easily find the information most relevant to your circumstances. However, you may fit into more than one and the university will consider applicants against each of the relevant criteria.

Civil and structural engineers are responsible for the infrastructure and resources that keep our cities, towns and rural areas functioning. They focus on the design and construction of buildings, bridges and other structural components of an infrastructure.
This degree is strongly hands-on, you will apply engineering theory to real-world challenges. In your final year, you’ll do a major industry-related research project and a design project. You’ll learn in our industry-standard specialist facilities – such as the largest strong floor in the southern hemisphere and a 1200m long hydraulic testing facility – and use high-tech testing and computer modeling equipment.
As well as a 12-week work placement, there will be many other opportunities to learn by practical example, with guest lecturers from industry, simulated business environments and site visits to industrial facilities.
