English requirements

We require demonstration of proficiency in English for most international applicants. Submit official English test scores with your application unless you’re from Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Commonwealth Caribbean, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa or the United Kingdom. We accept the following:

  • TOEFL internet-based score of 71+

  • IELTS score of 6.0+

  • Duolingo score of 100+ (tests taken before July 1 – minimum score of 51)

  • PTE score of 50+

We only can accept scores received directly from the testing organization. We review on an individual basis any case where an applicant’s score is below our recommended testing levels.

Course Information

In this B.F.A. in drama program, you'll learn the skills necessary to become a professional actor in movies, theater, television and musicals. As a drama major, you can choose between two specialized tracks, acting or musical theater performance. Students specializing in acting will focus on advanced acting techniques, directing, technical theater and playwriting, and students specializing in musical theater performance will study singing and vocal techniques, dance, music theory and musical theater history.

No matter what track you choose, you'll gain a firm foundation in acting, auditioning, script analysis, history, voice and movement. Lynn University's theater program blends traditional and contemporary theatrical training methods through innovative approaches that keep pace with the demands of the industry.
