English requirements

We require demonstration of proficiency in English for most international applicants. Submit official English test scores with your application unless you’re from Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Commonwealth Caribbean, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa or the United Kingdom. We accept the following:

  • TOEFL internet-based score of 71+

  • IELTS score of 6.0+

  • Duolingo score of 100+ (tests taken before July 1 – minimum score of 51)

  • PTE score of 50+

We only can accept scores received directly from the testing organization. We review on an individual basis any case where an applicant’s score is below our recommended testing levels.

Course Information

As a film major in this film and television production program, you'll learn how to work in the media industry. You'll gain a firm background in creative, technical and theoretical study of the moving image. You’ll work in a collaborative environment, and acquire technical competency with state-of-the-art technology. Become a storyteller and realize your vision through technical and creative training.

You’ll also gain hands-on filmmaking experience through active participation in pre-production, production and post-production assignments. This B.F.A. program gives you the skills and expertise necessary for building a successful career in the media industry.
