Course Information

Mobile Apps are used throughout society for a range of purposes, each with its own requirements and demands, consequently the need for systems that can interact effectively has gained huge importance. In this course you will learn about the wide reaching influences that computers and mobile apps have and their use around the world, as well as the contribution that you may be able to make to future advances.

This specialist pathway provides you with a very good understanding of Mobile Application Development, mobile and wireless networks, mobile devices, the internet, data communications and multimedia technologies as well as their relevance to modern industry and commerce. This course uses practical examples from industry to reinforce the theoretical underpinning that you will gain throughout the programme. Following successful completion of your HND, you may be able to study for an additional year and gain a BSc (Hons) qualification.

During Stage One, you study fundamental computing principles including computer systems, communications, problem solving and programming and internet technology. All Computing students study common modules during Stage One, which allows for greater flexibility when choosing a specialism for Stage Two. Within Stage Two, you are able to following the specialist Mobile Computing HND pathway. You will study mobile computing, modern networks, internet programming, and systems design and development. Integral to Stage Two is a challenging group project where you will work with fellow students within a small design team to produce a bespoke solution to a real world challenge.
